The Angel Show

I am proud to be part of "The Angel Show" at the Life Force Arts Center Gallery in Chicago, Illinois! I am showing "Angel of Joy", "Angel of Grace" (see left) and "Angel of Hope".
Please, read the press release below!

December 4, 2009 - January 3, 2010

Angels grace the halls of the Life Force Arts Center Gallery (3148 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago) this holiday season as artists display their interpretations of uplifting, angelic presence. Ranging from traditional to abstract and modern depictions of angels, The Angel Show features paintings, photography, and mixed media from 10 artists from around the country. The show's opening reception is Friday December 4 from 6 - 10 pm. For more information, contact 773-327-7224 www.LifeForceArts.org.

For centuries, Angels have been known as the messengers of God or as a direct manifestation of the Divine. Angels are a phenomenon that cross the boundaries of many religions and spiritual beliefs. They have been known as the keepers of wisdom, the bringers of the word of God, Divine teachers, guardians and guides of humanity. The Angel Show creates new perceptions of these great Beings of Light, and new avenues of connection between the observer and these Messengers of the Divine.

Visitors to the exhibit will see manifestations of angel energy as varied as Sharka Glet's exquisite paintings of the Archangels; pure geometric energy patterns in the digital photography of Fred Casselman and Diogenes; and the driftwood angel sculpture of Pat Otto.

Joan Forest Mage, Executive Director of Life Force Arts Center and curator of the show, says, "Our gallery features art that expresses the spiritual experience of human beings across cultures and time. What better theme to explore during the holidays than angels? Angels sang when Christ was born, but they also appear to people in all types of circumstances. We invite the angels to bring in their high vibrational energy of Light."

Artists featured are:

Monthly Aspectarian, Nov. 2009 issue

ON THE COVER
"Goddess of Awakening"
by Bettina Madini

I am glad to be featured on the cover of the Monthly Aspectarian, a Lightworker Magazine from the Chicago area, with my painting "Goddess of Awakening". Please, read below.

"This painting has a very rich symbolism referring to depictions of the Goddess in ancient cultures. The center of the painting is the Goddess, here depicted as Kwan Yin. She is the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion.

The goddess is seated on her throne made from ancient stone. The waters underneath the throne are the “Waters of Life” and symbolize the continuous flow of life and the final healing of the emotions. The dragonfly is a symbol for transformation and the magic in life, the miracle that happens in the Now. The twinkling lights of its transparent wings symbolize to me delicate strength and transparent power. The material world, symbolized by the jewels above the Goddess, is breaking apart and the light is beaming through. From the ‘I AM Presence’ or the Higher Self emanates the droplet as the symbol for the moment of awakening or self realization."

Beautiful Gifts from the Heart

I am glad to be back at the Madison Holiday Market at the Alliant Center this year and invite you to my booth #114 where I will be
happy to show you my beautiful creations.

Some people describe me as an "angelic artist", others as a "visionary artist". My paintings come from an inner realm, either in meditation or just in the moment wh
ile I am painting. I will be showing angels and visionary paintings in watercolor and acrylic.

What a wonderful time to dwell in color and pick the perfect gifts for yourself and for loved ones. I invite you to browse my booth and choose from a wide selection of framed and unframed pieces of art in different sizes and for all budgets, for different tastes, be it for the wall or the side board, your desk or your kitchen table. On the left, you see "Angel of Hope".

As you can imagine, I am currently in intense preparations for the show and adding the final touches to this unique item for you. I created a new line of paintings that I call my "Art Heart Collection". They are precious original paintings painted onto heart shaped canvas that can be hung on your wall or in your Christmas tree or any space you would like to give this creative Touch of a Heart. See on the right "Golden Angel".

My paintings are cherished by many for their healing and inspirational qualities and can be found in corporate and private collections in Europe and in the United States.

In addition to my paintings, I will show my wearable art, unique, hand knitted accessories for today's Goddesses! They are beautiful, warm and one-of-a-kind. You will for sure not walk by unnoticed! I will show you my "Goddess wraps", "Goddess hats" and "Goddess mittens", for you to pick.

Please, visit my website www.EarthAngelProductions.com and my online gallery at www.Earthangelgallery.etsy.com for a preview of my creations.

I am looking forward to seeing you next weekend in Madison and to share my inspiring art with you!

My wearable art - Your Goddess Wrap

It started in New York City. Coming from Europe where we don't have heavy air conditioning everywhere I couldn't get used to ice cold air in stores, the subway, everywhere.... and hot air outside! Instead of putting on sweaters,

I knitted the first "goddess wrap"! Practical, yes! Beautiful, yes! In the subway, I wrapped it around, outside I took it off easily and slipped it into my purse. And, people started ordering whenever I had my wrap on, wherever I went.

They are fun, they are unique, one-of-a-kind pieces of art that you can wear or decorate in your home. I never make the same wrap again. I use quality yarns, such as silks, cottons, bamboo yarns, wool, linen, chenille, soy yarns, some metallic yarns, microfibers, viscose, blends and all kinds of novelty yarns. I choose them by the way they feel. Sometimes, I see a yarn that reminds me of seaweed, and I add it to my collection. I know that one day I will need exactly this yarn, and if it is only for a few stitches...

As for my paintings, my goddess wraps happen in the moment. I do not have a pattern. They are abstract landscapes from the soul, for the soul. When I take a commission, you can tell me which colors you don't like, and I will respect that. At the same time, I take my artistic freedom! If I feel the 'pull' to add a certain color, I will do so. It might only be a small area. So far, it has always worked out perfectly! Even if you, let's say, don't want green, believe me there is this green and that green, tons of different hues and textures. Even the texture of a yarn has an influence on how you perceive the color! And in the end, it is the entire composition that makes the piece. It has never happened, but if you don't like your wrap you can send it back to me, provided it is in impeccable condition of course. I have seen transformations happening in a woman's being when she found her goddess wrap! The Joy that she is expressing is a true gift for me!

I enjoy making them. Actually, it is very meditative. You can order a triangle shape or a rectangle (stole) shape. It takes me about 6 to 8 weeks to finish a goddess wrap. Would you like to order your's? Contact me, and I am happy to make one for you.

Painting from within

Painting has been for me a real initiation into an unlimited inner universe.

After 11 years in the corporate world in Luxemburg, which grounded me firmly into financials, numbers and figures, my soul urged me strongly into 'letting go'.

I had studied painting at the Ecole d'Art Contemporain in Luxemburg and participated in my first exhibits in Luxemburg while still working in a full time job in the financial world. My artistic education at the art school in Luxemburg made me emerge myself deeply into Kandinski's color theory. I learned to 'feel' color and experience it directly in my body. Warm versus cold, close vs. far, open vs. closed, or even geometrical shapes connected with color. And for me, another dimension came in which is 'color and sound'. I still can hear an inner music while painting, or I see color while singing. These were the gifts that I received from my first art teacher, Jean-Marc Tosello, from the Ecole d'Art Contemporain in Luxemburg.

In 2003, I decided to burn my fears in order to nurture my dreams. How often did I burn my dreams before, in order to nurture my fears... I was at a point in my life where I needed to take risks and learn to fly. And I went flying, not only from Luxemburg to New York City, but my spirit being opened her wings and took flight! Needless to say that I got into storms and fell, but there was always a wind carrying me back up... I once heard that, once we venture out on the quest to finding love (which for me is loving myself, ultimately), the entire universe conspires to manifest love in, for and around us. I continued my art education at the National Academy of Fine Arts in New York City. Doors have been flying open ever since...

Letting go happens for me when I paint, every time. I never know what my painting is going to be. I allow color to pull me in and find myself in a place that I always refer to as 'the zone'. It is a place of 'beingness'. I am here, and not really here. I see but not really with my physical eyes. Things happen on the canvas, and I go with the flow. This is, for an example, how my angels came into manifestation (see the "Angel of Love" above). I did not have the intention to paint angels, but they came to me, one after the next.

It is an initiation for me because I face myself. I face resistence, judgement, doubt and criticism. I take the chance to face them, embrace them and let them go... This process opened my heart further into acceptance and love.
